Dear Polio Eradication Warriors,
No new Wild Polio paralysis cases reported this week. We are now 6 weeks since the most recent report of a child being paralyzed by the Wild Polio Virus in Pakistan.
After you’ve planned a World Polio Day event, don’t forget to register it. New this year: District- and zone-level events can also be registered, not just club events. Let’s show the world that Rotary’s commitment to polio eradication is stronger than ever!
Did you know American Actor Robert Redford, who passed away recently, contracted Polio as a child in the 1930s? He later recalled that the illness left him bedridden for weeks, during which time his mother read to him constantly. That experience, he has said, nurtured his imagination and planted the seeds for his later interest in storytelling, film, and the arts.
